What can we expect?
I love shooting weddings in a natural way, as they happen. I provide a calm, organised and friendly service that will capture you at your best. I love to see relaxed smiles and enjoy building a gallery of photographs that tell the story of your day. I look at the detail as well as the bigger picture, capturing the heart of each wedding.
What happens if we like your portfolio and we are interested to know more, can we meet up?
Absolutely! It would be great to meet up, we can chat about your day and what you are looking for in your photographer. You can have a look through a lot more of my work and you can also get a feel for who I am and what it will be like to have me there on your wedding day.
What will you show us when we meet?
I will bring a large selection of my work with me so that you can see entire wedding days and not just cherry picked photographs - this way you can get a really good feel for what your wedding day photographs will look like from start to finish. I will bring large prints as well as wedding albums that show a variety of weddings in a number of different venues.
How do we book and is there a deposit?
If you would like to book, I have an agreement form that I complete and sign with each couple. I also ask for a £200 booking fee at this time, your balance payment is due 3 weeks before your wedding (around the time of the pre-wedding meeting).
What happens at the pre-wedding meeting?
Quite a few things! Firstly it's a great opportunity to catch up on what's been happening with your planning over the last few months and it's a great time for us to reconnect. I will run through the timings of you day with you so that you know I have it all recorded. I also like to run through who's in the bridal party and your immediate family, so that I know everyone's names. It's also the best time to run through any group photographs that you would like, listing out who should be in each shot. Preparing in this way before your day ensures I know exactly when and where everything is to take place and any key shots that you are looking for - all that's left is for you to enjoy your big day.
What happens on the day?
When I arrive, initially I will chat with you a little to help relax you and to also take your mind off my camera! From here I will shoot your day without any need for guidance or reminders, I have my plan at hand and can help keep things on track by liaising with the venue and the bridal party. I am always polite, helpful and where I need to be, when I should be. If help is needed, I am there for you but don't worry, I don't take over and certainly won't get in the way. I will capture lots of natural shots and will always give you as much time as possible to make sure you enjoy your day, as well as getting the shots you want.
Do we need to provide you with a meal?
If I am with you for more than 6 hours on your wedding day, I ask that you provide me with something when you eat. This can be what you are eating or something from the bar - either will be lovely and it will give me a moment to recharge.
When will we get our photographs?
It can take up to eight weeks at my busier times to get your final images over to you, if I can get them to you sooner than this I will. Your photographs will initially be sent to you via a password protected online link and then a few days later they will arrive by post on a beautiful wooden USB in a wooden box.
Do we have copyright for our images?
I ask all of my couples that they allow me to use a selection of their photographs to promote my business in the future. This may be in my website, my blog, through Facebook and Instagram, also for printed materials. In return, I am happy for you to print your photographs without restriction.
Can we order albums and prints?
Yes you can. Through your password protected online gallery, you and your guests are able to order prints, framed prints and canvas's. I also offer a selection of fine art wedding albums.
How many photographs will we get and how will you provide them?
The number of images that you receive will depend on how many hours of your day I cover for you. To give you an idea, when I cover a wedding day for a whole day I supply 500+ photographs, colour and black and white. Your photographs will be supplied via a password protected online gallery as well as on a USB.
How far will you travel?
I am based in Swindon, Wiltshire and include within my packages travel up to 30 miles including Cheltenham, the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath, Oxford and Newbury to name a few! If your venue is a little further, there will be a small additional charge for travelling and expenses. I am not currently shooting weddings abroad.
How much experience do you have?
I started my photography business seven years ago having spent the previous two years working with and learning from different inspiring wedding photographers as a second shooter.
My first year of business was exciting and my first solo wedding took place on the amazing SS Great Britain in Bristol - what a venue! It was a very cold day in April, the bridesmaids were frozen. I can remember suggesting to them that we were actually on a boat in the Caribbean to make them laugh and help them relax a little. It was a wonderful day and I haven't looked back.
More recently I won Business of the year in the Whitewed Directory Awards, I have been short-listed in the Wedding Industry Awards and the Cotswold Wedding Awards and have also been featured in Bride magazine and Vogue.
I hope this helps to cover a few of your questions. If you like my wedding photography portfolio, do get in touch, I would love to meet you and chat about your very exciting plans :)
